Ever since friday 19 february, Windows Update about dayly keeps coming back with updates I already installed. In concerns the updates KB975560 and KB977914.

When Windows (Vista x64) boot, I get a pop up telling me that Windows can’t check for updates. When I run Windows Update manually, I get error code 80070424

How can we guess what updates you’re talking about? On the chance you’re referring to Windows Update: You need to install all updates labeled Critical (in Windows XP) or Important (in Windows Vista or 7.) For other updates, the choice is yours.

BITS can be damaged by security software (Norton/McAfee/etc), by malware, or due to hardware issues. How do I reset Windows Update components
